Attitudes of disabled students at Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University towards the practicing of activities and It's relation to their psychological adjustment

Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the students with special needs attitudes towards practicing in activities and its relationship to their psychological Adjustment. To achieve the study goals, the researcher used the descriptive approach (correlative and comparative).

The results of the study showed that there is no relationship between the dimensions of the total score for the scale of students with special needs ’attitudes and the total score for the psychological adjustment scale, except for the administrative dimension, which showed a statistically significant relationship at the level (0.01).

The results also showed the presence of statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) in the administrative dimension and the overall degree of the instrument for females, and the absence of differences in the rest of the dimensions. The results also showed the presence of statistically significant differences in the attitude variable at the level of (0.05) in the overall degree of adjustment according to the variable (the type of disability) for students with visual disabilities. Moreover, the results showed that there are no differences in the overall degree of psychological adjustment according to the type of variable. The results of the study recommended that students with special needs should be supported by qualified and specialized staff in the field of psychology and sociology to raise the level of psychological adjustment for them.
