Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the effect of a training program based on emotional intelligence in improving personal compatibility skills and raising the level of self-esteem of battered wives in the city of Riyadh. The research sample consisted of (30) battered wives in Riyadh city whose ages ranged between (25-45) years, and to achieve the goal of the research, a training program prepared by the researcher based on emotional intelligence and its dimensions (awareness of emotion / emotional management / empathy / communication and social skills) was built, consisting of (13) training sessions based on the model of means and teaching development institutions: NSMI, IDI The National Special Media Instruction Development (Kent, 1987): The Personal Accordance Scale, prepared by Ali Al-Deeb (1988), and the Self-Esteem Scale prepared by the researcher were used. The results revealed the effectiveness of the training program based on emotional intelligence in improving personal compatibility skills and raising The level of self-esteem of battered wives in Riyadh.
