Abstract

The importance of this study entitled "Al- Lith seaport and its military role in Hejaz annexation to the First Saudi State in 1218-1221 A.H. / 1803-1806 A.D." is being clarified to understand that period and to shed the light on the military role of Al- Lith seaport during the annexation of Hejaz by first Saudi State.

This port has played political and military essential roles as a major naval base for the Hejaz region and for First Saudi State for which it was used for the military sea landing.

This study aims to realize the military and political role of this port, and to show aspects of military strategies of the naval powers of the first Saudi State such as blitzkrieg and the military tactic for blockading ships on coast. This study includes a preface and two sections as follows:-the

A preface that deals with the historical importance of Al-Lith seaport,

while the first section is on the military confrontation between Imam Saud Ibn Abdul-Aziz and Sheriff Ghaleb and annexation of Al-Lith, and the second section tackles the Saudi naval forces' role in Al-Lith for the annexation of the Hejaz region.
