Abstract

The study aimed to identify all kinds of student activities; and their role in developing domestic tourism, and identify students’ attitudes, in addition to the role of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University in activating various student activities. It also aimed to identify the effect of some variables such as: (gender, college, and academic level) on students’ attitudes towards different student activities and their practice. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical method was followed. The questionnaire was also used as a tool for data collection, as it included a group of topics that achieve the objectives of the study and answer its questions. The study also relied on the quantitative method to analyze the characteristics of the study sample, and their perspective on practicing various student activities, up to the extent of their awareness of the role of those activities in the development of domestic tourism. The study sample consisted of (784) male and female students. From various colleges of Imam Abdulrahman ibn Faisal University during the academic year 1441 AH. The most important findings of the study is the students’ reluctance to participate in student activities. As their percentage reached about (72.4%) of the study sample, despite the fact that the level of their agreement on the importance of student activities in the development of domestic tourism was high, explaining this due to varies reasons, which the researcher developed some recommendations as suggested solutions for it.
