Psychometric Properties of the HEXACO–60: Measure for the six personality factors in the Saudi environment

Abstract

The study aimed to identify Psychometric Properties of the HEXACO–60: Measure for the six personality factors in the Saudi environment, and it has been applied to the study sample, which contained (1167) adolescents; and adults, (559) of them are males, (608), and females. Results of the study indicated that the scale has (Cronbach's alpha) at adolescents between (0,60-0.68) and at adults between (0.66 - 0.71), while bisection segmentation at adolescents between (0.77- 0.88) and adults between (0.81- 0.90). The results of the study also indicated that scale has internal true consistency, and its final form had (57) phrases at a sample of adolescents and adults in the Saudi environment. The factor analysis revealed saturation of the scale phrases on six factors. The study showed that there were differences between adolescents and adults regarding the following factor: honesty, humility, emotionality, extraversion, agreeableness, and consciousness in favor of adults. There were differences in openness factor to experience in favor of adolescents. The results also showed differences in both factors of emotionality and consciences between males and females.  There were differences between males and females in both factors in agreeableness; and openness to experience in favor of females.  There were no differences in both factors of honesty and humility, and agreeableness between males and females.
