Abstract

This study aimed to identify the reality of using social media platforms by faculty members in Saudi universities in the educational process. Using the descriptive approach with the survey as a method for data collection, (311) staff members of media departments in Riyadh participated in this process. The study revealed that there is a large number of social media platforms that have already been employed in university education by faculty members and media departments before the Corona pandemic due to the advantages of communication and interaction between faculty members and their students. The study also found the effectiveness and impact of the role of social media platforms in the university educational process during the period of the Corona pandemic. Due to the ease of linking courses with electronic references, the popularity of their use in the learning process increased.
