The Effectiveness of a Training Program for the Development of National Belonging in a Sample of Female University Students

The present research aimed to explore the effectiveness of a program for enhancing and developing the national belonging in university students a quasi-experimental research method where the independent variable is represented in the program and the dependent one in national belonging. The sample consisted of (20) university students, whose age between 19 and 24, from the College of Science and Arts in Al-Qurayat. 24 sessions of the program were designed according on social, historical, and cultural bases. These sessions lasted 8 weeks (3 per week) and each one was about 30-45 minutes. The first session was dedicated to introducing the research and pre-measurement, and the last one for post-measurement. After applying the program, follow-up measurement was applied after a month and "the feeling of national belonging dimensions" designed by the researchers was used as measurement. The program proved effectiveness in raising national belonging among students in post-measurement only in the cultural dimension. However, no significant differences were found in other dimensions whether in the post or follow-up measurements. This indicates the program's validity for future use. Also, the results were discussed in the light of past literature about the same topic.
