The Reality of the Social Support Provided to the Saudi Students on Abroad Scholarship Program During COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the reality of the social support provided to Saudi students on abroad scholarship programs; during the COVID-19 pandemic, utilizing the social survey.  The study sample composed of (603) students, both male and female, currently undertaking the scholarship mission for the academic year 2021. The study results demonstrated that the most significant perceived social support sources are attributed to the following: Family and friends as a priority, then to the civilian community organizations, particularly those related to the abroad KSA Cultural Commission, while media means was the third rank.    Furthermore, the results illustrated that the social support resources achieved a high rank with a percentage of (75.6٪).  On the other hand, the results demonstrated no differences; among the statistical parameters; attributed to the social support sources utilization level for both male and female students concerning variables about age, education level, and social status.
