The problems of individuals in the Saudi society and their relationship to their social characteristics

Abstract

This research sought to identify the problems of individuals in Saudi society; and their relationship to some demographic variables, such as age, gender, marital status, family size, educational level, monthly income, and geographical area. The research was conducted on a stratified random sample of 2400 from the  Kingdom population of Saudi Arabia. The research reached a set of results, including 31% of the sample members do not have any problems affecting their lives. Concerning the problems faced by the rest of the sample, the financial problems came in the first place, and the unemployment problem came in the second place, followed by housing and then education problems. Work, family, and health problems came at the bottom of the scale facing the sample members. The research presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: raising the minimum wage in the public and private sectors to meet the living needs of individuals. And work to continue government efforts to reduce the level of foreign labor in society. Expedite the implementation of housing programs and plans carried out by the government considering the basic requirements for housing Saudi families. Improving the school or educational environment in general so that it is an environment conducive to education and attracting students.
