Effectiveness of a Pedagogical Program reflecting onthe Psychological Signification of Some Holy Quran Verses on Developing Academic Self-Efficacy and Academic Attitudes towards Islamic Orientation of Psychology

This experimental research aims at examining the effectiveness of a program based on reflecting onthe psychological significationofsome Holy Quranverses on developing academic self-efficacy and students' positive attitudes towards Islamic orientation of Psychology. The study sample consists of (113) Diploma students in Guidance and Counseling from AlImam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, in the second semester of the academic year 1433/1434 AH. It is divided into two groups: Experimental group (n=55) and control group (n=58). Two pre/post scales are applied, they are: Attitudes towards Islamic orientation of Psychology scale and academic self-efficacy scale. The program, based on studentsreflecting on the psychological significationof some Holy Quranverses - with psychological topics, such as motives, emotions, personality, mental processes, learning, and psychological treatment- is applied on students of the experimental group only. The data were analyzed using T-Test and Pearson correlation coefficient.
The results show the effectiveness of the study program on the development of students' attitudes towards the Islamic orientation of Psychology and academic self-efficacy and all their sub-dimensions. Theresults are interpretedand recommendations and suggestions for further research are proposed.
