The Impact of Work Stress on Organizational Commitment: A Study on Employees from Saudi Private Organizations

Abstract

 

This study aims at empirically determines recognition of real levels of work stress that employees faced at private sector institutions in Riyadh city, determining their organizational commitment and the impact of work stress on it. 

The study reached the following results: the levels of work stress and organizational commitment were slightly high, the causes of work stresses leveled in a descending order as per its contribution in these stresses, which are (lack of career promotion, burden of role, role confusion, role conflict,  physical work environment), there is an adverse relationship between work stress and organizational commitment, finally there are significant relationships between organizational commitment and some demographic variables. The study provided a no. of recommendations and suggestions.
