The Use of Cooperative Learning in Group Work and Increasing the Achievement Motivation of the Group

Abstract

 

 

The purpose of this study is to increase the achievement motivation of the group work. This was achieved by using cooperative learning as one of the techniques of group work. The researcher conducted a quasi-experimental study by investigating the effect of an independent variable on a dependent variable. Therefore, one group was designed and used as an experimental group. The researcher conducted a pre-test on this experimental group. Then, the researcher employed the independent variable, the method of cooperative learning in group work, on the  experimental group. After six months, the post-test was conducted. The results of the study revealed that the use of cooperative learning as an experimental method in the group work had a positive effect on the group work. Moreover, the achievement motivation of the experimental group was increased.
