University Companies as an Access to Activate Partnership between Universities and Production Institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract

The current study attempts to investigate the benefits that the government universities and production institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia gain by establishing university companies (companies university) in order to activate partnership between them. The requirements as well as obstacles of applying university partnership between government universities and production institutions have been defined. Also, proposals about using Companies University to activate partnership between universities and production institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were made.

Descriptive method was applied to the study sample that consists of (77) faculty members of Al Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, and (134) faculty members of King Saud University where the sample was selected from three colleges with the same name and major from both universities. A questionnaire of (51) sentences was prepared and categorized into four elements.   

The study concluded with several results including the following:

-    The activation of partnership between universities and production institutions:

1-  Will keep universities in real contact with development and society.

2-  Will assist in opening new programs at the universities in accordance with the needs of production institutions.

3-  Will prepare new employees and achieve basic competence.

-  The most important requirement to activate the relation between government universities and production institutions:

1- Preparing a comprehensive manual in collaboration between universities and institutions about the mechanisms of building companies universities.

-The most important obstacle facing the activation of partnership between government universities and production institutions:

1-The research of faculty members often covers the theoretical aspect more than the organizational one.

The current study was concluded by a set of introductions according to conclusions.
