Job Satisfaction among Medical Social Workers in Makkah Province

Abstract

Job satisfaction is considered as an important aspect and vital element of the professional practice of social work. Personal motivation is strongly associated with performance and good quality of delivering social services by practitioners. This research aims to measure job satisfaction among medical social workers in Saudi hospitals in western Saudi Arabia. The study used an adapted scale that has been designed specifically to measure job satisfaction via nine dimensions or elements which are: psychological development, salary, responsibility, supervision, remuneration and promotion, working conditions, job requirements, social status, and administrative regulations. The study found that there is a decline in the overall level of job satisfaction among social workers.
