Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the structural construction of the Sura entitled AlQalam from the rhetorical rule that says that the style or linguistic structure of a text is manifested in the meaning, purposes, and ideas skillfully cast in appropriate linguistic formulae by the writer. Additionally, the aesthetics of literary work does not lie in its diction, but in the search for grammatical meaning that suits the purpose which has the lead as Al-Jurjani said, and in mainly depending on the kind of proportionate balance between the linguistic construction of the Quranic Sura and its purpose according to the proportionate theory established by Al-Buqa’I, a theory which asserts that each part of the Sura is chosen because of its tight relation to the Sura as a Whole. The research endeavors to identify aspects of this remarkable proportionate balance between the structures of the Sura and its meaning. The researcher maintains that the relationship is clarified through featuring the style, formulation, characteristics of the composition, and niceties of the structure. It has also been shown how the fifty-two verses in this Sura have proportionate performance of the succinct coordination and miraculous composition, as it is always the case with the Holy Quran.
