Abrogation of Quranic Verses between proponents and Opponents
Abstract
This research, entitled "Abrogation of Quranic Verses between Proponents and Opponents ", discusses abrogation of Quranic verses demonstrating that abrogation has occurred in the Holy Quran. The research is divided into three sections: the first one is about the linguistic and technical meaning of abrogation, then kinds of abrogation are dealt with. Next, the reason for abrogation is stated. The second section highlights the argument put forward by scholars over whether abrogation in Quranic verses has taken place. It names those who have followed the saying of scholars, mentioning the evidence of the two groups and then the preponderant opinion. The researcher points out that most scholars approve of the occurrence of abrogation of Quranic verses except a few late scholars. The evidence was clear that it exists. They also gave consent to the occurrence of abrogation. As for the third section, it states the narrations that denote the occurrence of abrogation of Quranic verses and that it exists in the Holy Quran. In this section, the authentication (Takhrīj) of the stated narrations is included; they are examined on the basis of the rules of the people of Hadith. Moreover, a distinction between authentic and weak hadiths is stated. In doing this, I have devoted my attention to recount what scholars have said about those narrations in terms of narration and knowledge.
