Availability of Entrepreneurship Characteristics among Students of the Department of Art Education at King Saud University and its Relationship to Some Variables

Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the availability of entrepreneurship characteristics among Students of the Department of Art Education at King Saud University and its relationship to some variables. The study applied the descriptive approach, and the data were interpreted and analyzed in order to obtain related results to the research objectives.            

To achieve the objective of the study, a questionnaire was conducted on a sample of (215) male as well as female students studying in Art Education Department at King Saud University in BA, MA and PhD programs. The questionnaire was divided into two sections; the first provides basic information about the study sample, whereas the second elaborates on the availability of entrepreneurship characteristics. These characteristics were built on a tripartite system for the availability degree: large, medium and small.

The main findings included the following: The majority of the sample members had characteristics of an entrepreneur on a large scale and they were aware of the meaning of entrepreneurship. The results indicated the significant differences in favor of postgraduate students regarding the level of characteristics of entrepreneurship they had. The results also showed that total score of characteristics indicated that there were significant differences within the responses of the study sample among postgraduate students.

Based on the discussion of the results, the current study ended with a number of recommendations that include: Enhancing the quality of training courses that discuss the concept of entrepreneurship for male and female students of the Department of Art Education.
