Abstract

This study aims to identify the level of awareness of anti-cybercrimes among students of Faculty of Education in Shaqra University and the educational measures that can be taken by the Faculty of Education to increase their awareness. The study used the descriptive method of surveying and inductive approaches. The study population consisted of  (713) students and a sample consisting of (190) students (female & male) who  are all students of the departments of special education and psychology, the two comparable sections in the two campuses of the college. The findings showed that respondents approved all the items of the first theme related to terms mentioned in the system, the second theme associated with wiretapping, illegal access to websites, and disclosure of privacy. Moreover, they approved the third theme related to the production of programs and the dissemination of pornographic and banned websites. The general arithmetic average of the themes was (4.02) (3.71) (3.81) respectively. There are no statistically significant differences in the responses of the sample members in the first item, related to the variables of gender, specialization and the cumulative rate. Furthermore, there are no statistically significant differences in the responses of the sample members related to gender and major variables in the second and third themes. On the other hand, there are statistically significant differences in the two items, related to the GPA, among those with a GPA of less than (3) and those who scored more than (4) in favor of those who scored (4) out of (5). The study suggested a number of educational measures that can be taken to increase the level of awareness among students, including informing them about the dangers of cybercrimes, and the most important measures and methods to confront them and to make use of available material, human and technical resources. In addition, the responsibility and ethical and national values should be developed and keeping them away from any social factors that may lead to committing or participating in cybercrimes.
