Abstract

This study aims at evaluating the academic achievement in Statistics course in view of the different sources of cognitive load and achievement goal tendencies and level of Self-regulated learning among the preparatory year students at Jeddah University. The study used the descriptive approach, and the study sample consisted of (583) PYP students. Data were analyzed by 3-way variance analysis of the following factorial design (2 × 3 × 3). The study results indicated the presence of significant differences in academic achievement between internal groups of students & Intrinsic/extraneous cognitive load in the light of the difference in achievement goal tendency and level of Self-regulated learning.
