This research aims to measure the effectiveness of an enrichment training program based on methods and strategies for generating creative ideas in developing creative thinking in mathematics among talented students at the secondary stage. To achieve this goal, the researcher used the experimental approach and the design of a single experimental group with a pre and post-test.. The researcher prepared and codified the creative thinking test in mathematics.
He also built a valuable training program based on methods and strategies for generating creative ideas (Open-ended problems, brainstorming, written storming, merging, inverting thinking, looking through others' eyes, and SCAMPER strategy). It was applied during (14) training sessions on a sample of talented students in the secondary stage who are enrolled in the summer program at King Abdulaziz University, and they were (38) students from different regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
To measure the effectiveness of the training program, a creative thinking test in mathematics was applied before and after the application of the program. The experiment showed that there are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group for all dimensions of the creative thinking test (fluency, flexibility, originality, and details), The findings also showed that 76% of the improvement in creative thinking levels in general among talented students in the secondary stage in post-application is due to the enrichment training program.
