Actual Practicing of Classroom Communication Skills among High School Teachers in Dammam (from their Point of View)
Abstract
This research work aims at identifying the actual practicing of classroom communication skills among high school teachers in Dammam in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It also seeks to identify its obstacles and the proposals suggested for its improvement. The research uses the descriptive approach with its survey method. The research tool is the questionnaire, which was distributed randomly to a sample of (223) teachers.
The findings of this research show that there is a high degree of use of classroom communication skills by school teachers in spite of the presence of many obstacles. Surveyed teachers highly agreed upon the importance of the suggested proposals to improve their classroom communication skills. Data of the study show that there are statistically significant differences among the respondents, according to the school classification variable, in favor of public school teachers. However, no statistically significant differences are found among teachers according to the variables of bachelor's degree specialization, type of bachelor's degree, and years of experience. The findings are discussed and interpreted, and then some recommendations based on these findings are presented.
