The Status quo of candidates for student counseling according to the results of the professional test of the student guides and evaluate their suitability with the current trends of recruitment
Abstract
The present study aimed to detect the level of professionally in school counselor based on the Counselor Professional Test, and how did their performance differ on such variables as gender, specialization and educational experience. It also, aimed to ascertain to what extent the existing policy that is employed by the Ministry of Education for transferring non-specialists into counseling fulfills the new trends in school counselor. The current study was based on analysis of (3390) examinees' data on the Counselor Professional Test, which was implemented by the National Center for Assessment as one of the requirements to run for school counselor. The results showed law performance at the general level, with a significant difference between the performances of the applicants according to their specialties, also it was noted that a correlation between the performance and the level of training. However, test scores did not show significant difference between genders.
