Kindergarten Teachers' Role in developing Security Concepts in Kindergarten Children in Riyadh, KSA

This study evaluates the role of kindergarten teachers in developing security concepts in kindergarten children in Riyadh, KSA. The participants are all government kindergarten teachers in Riyadh, KSA. To serve the purposes of the study, participants were chosen using the simple random way. The study sample consisted of (220) current female teachers during the second semester of the academic year (1441).The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach and a questionnaire with six items was conducted to the measure the teachers'points of view regarding the importance of developing security concepts in kindergarten children as well as developing social security concepts, public security concepts, public property concepts, economic security concepts, psychological and preventive security concepts. The study also aimed at diagnosing the challenges facing kindergarten teachers in developing security concepts in them.
The results revealed that the participants had a significant tendency towards developing security concepts in kindergarten children in Riyadh, KSA .The average of the participants' responses regarding this role scored (2.45) with a high satisfaction rate. The participants' responses to a questionnaire items measuring their role in developing security concepts in kindergarten children in Riyadh, KSA was high all sub-items of the questionnaire, except for the sixth item (challenges facing kindergarten teachers while security concepts in kindergarten children), where the satisfaction rate was moderate.
The study came out with many recommendation; the most important of which are:
- Reviewing kindergarten stage curricula in order to improve the process of developing security concepts in kindergarten children.
- Overcoming challenges that prevent kindergarten children from acquiring security concepts.
- Increase the training workshops and courses that train kindergarten teachers on strategies and activities that develop security concepts in kindergarten children in the daily schedule and involving families.
- Support Kindergarten teachers in their postgraduate education and help them develop themselves to cope with global and local community requirements that are consistent with Vision 2030 of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
