Dealing with Public Epidemics and Pandemics, from an Islamic Educational Perspective

Abstract

The present research aimed to provide a general demonstration of the characteristics of educational theory, seek an understanding of the tracks of different educational theories in dealing with public epidemics and pandemics, demonstrate the comprehensiveness of Islamic education and its addressing of jurisprudential issues, discuss the notions of public epidemics and pandemics, the social, economic, and educational impacts of epidemics, the relationship of public endemics and pandemics with religious factors and cosmic facts, the concept of the Islamic education theory and its significance, the role of Islamic studies in eradicating public endemics and pandemics, and the most significant characteristics of the Islamic educational theory in dealing with public endemics and pandemics. The research adopted the inferential and descriptive approaches. The research obtained several findings, the most important of them are the following: the Islamic educational theory considers intention as the condition for acceptance of deeds, as deeds define whether deeds are accepted or not; Islamic education plays a great role in eradicating endemics through personal hygiene and other mechanisms for responding to and eradicating endemics; the Islamic educational theory in dealing with endemics is characterized by the following: godly, holistic, prospective, and balanced.
