Analysis of Learning Activities in Activity Books Associated withSocial and National Studies Curriculum in Intermediate School in Light of Developed Bloom Taxonomy of CognitiveDomain

Abstract

This study aimed at analyzingthe learning activities in the activity books associated with the social and national studiescurriculumin intermediate schoolsin light of the developedBloom’s Taxonomyof the cognitivedomain. This domain consists of two themes which areknowledge and cognitive processes. To achieve the objective of the study, the researcher designed an instrument according toBloom’sDeveloped Taxonomy of cognitive domain, to analyze the learning activities in the associated activity books using the descriptive method that based on content analysis approach. The population of the study was represented by all learning activities included in the associated activity bookswhich wereamounted to (630) activities. The study findings indicated that thelearning activities in the activity book associated with the social and national studiescurriculum of the first intermediate gradeamounted to (230) activities. The learning activities in the activity book associated with the social and national studiescurriculum of the secondintermediate gradeamounted to (190) activities. The learning activities in the activity book associated with the social and national studies curriculum of the thirdintermediate grade amounted to(210) activities. These activities weredistributed in different cognitive levels according to Bloom’s DevelopedTaxonomywith its two themes (knowledge and cognitive processes), but in varying and unbalanced proportions.
