Objective Trends of Scientific Research and Theses in the Field of Educational Administration in Saudi Universities During the Period(1396-1436 H)

Abstract

This study aimed atidentifying the objective trendsof scientific research and theses(master and doctoral) in the fieldof educational administrationapproved by the Saudi universities during the period (1396-1436 H).

The study used the context analysis approachand context analysis form as a study tool, which wasapplied on apurposive sample. The purposive sample consisted of all master research and master and doctoraltheses that were approved in the fieldof educational administrationin King Saud University atAl-Imam Muhammad ibnSaud Islamic University and Umm Al-Qura University during the period (1396-1436 H), which amounted to (1779) research and theses.

The study concluded with several results, the most important of which are as follows:

  • The enormous scientific production of scientific research and thesesin the field of educational administration, which amounted to (1779) research and theses, including(1537) master research and theses, and (242) doctoral dissertations dominated byfield research with a very high proportion.
  • The highest proportion of scientific research and theses targeted public education, followed by higher education, then the other types of education.
  • The study found that the scientific research and theses generallydiscussed all fields and topics of educational administration, although there is a disparity in the fields’discussion of each field’s topics. The fields sorted as follows: modern administration trends, educational administration, human resources management, organizational behavior, administrative applications, educational leadership, educational planning, school administration, economics of education, educational supervision, university administration, educational administrative thought.
