Abstract

The research aims to identify the effect of using mind maps on developing immediate (immediately after learning) and delayed (the extent to which learners retain what they have learned) achievement and habits of mind in the unification course for second-grade students.  The experimental method with a quasi-experimental design was used on two groups of (58) students, divided into an experimental group taught through traditional mind maps (29) students; and another experimental group taught through electronic mind maps (29) students. With the use of the pre-and post-application, immediate and deferred, the search tools, and a comparison of the level of performance between the two groups Where the researcher prepared the achievement test and the scale of habits of mind. It was clear from the results that the mental maps with their traditional and electronic patterns had an impact on developing achievement and improving the mental habits. By verifying the significance of the differences between the pre and post-application of the achievement test and the mental habits scale, for each of the two experimental groups separately. It also became clear that there are significant differences between the results of the two groups. The first experimental group  studies using traditional mind maps, and the second experimental group  studies electronic mind maps in both immediate and delayed dimensional achievement, and the mental habits scale in favor of the group that studies electronic maps .
