The challenges that faced by international graduate students at Qassim University, Saudi Arabia

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the most challenges facing international graduate students, at Qassim University, in terms of academic, administrative, and economic aspects. In addition, It aimed to find out any statistically significant differences according to the study variables “scientific college”, “study stage” or “mother language”. The quantitative descriptive-analytical method has been used as the study methodology. The structured questionnaire has been employed as the study instrument. The study sample was (51) students, representing the study population of about (200) students. The results of this study indicated that the highest challenges facing international graduate students, at Qassim University, were the economic challenges, as they came with a “Large” degree and a mean score (of 3.87) out of (5). Then, the administrative challenges came with a “medium” degree and a mean score (of 3.21) out of (5). Third, which was not far from the previous one. The academic challenges came with a "medium" degree and a mean score (of 3.17) out of (5). In addition, the results of the study revealed that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) or less among the study population due to the study variables “school stage”, “scientific college” and “mother language conclusion.  The study recommended strengthening the academic aspects of this group of students" international students", as well as developing administrative systems.

In addition, it has been made some recommendations regarding economic challenges such as providing overtime work for those students and developing the campus environment.
