The Reality of the Participation of Social and National StudiesSupervisors in Voluntary Work in Saudi Arabia
Abstract
The study investigates the main obstacles that hinder the participation of social and national studies supervisor in voluntary work,and suggestssolutions to increase the effectiveness of their participationin voluntary work. Furthermore, it identifies the supervisors' point of view regarding the most appropriate voluntary workin which they can participate as well as identifyingif there are statistically significant differences regarding the previous points attributed to different educational areas (Riyadh, Qassim, Asir). To achieve these goals, the researcher adoptsthe descriptive approach. The results show that the major obstacle holding the participation of social and national studies supervisors is the lack of specialized centers for training and preparing volunteers. The results also show that the best solution for more effective participation of the social and national studies supervisors is the provision offinancial support by agenciesconcerned with organizing voluntary work. In addition, the study reveals that the most favorite voluntary worktoparticipant supervisors is Intellectual Security programs. Finally,the results do not showsignificant differences between the three educational areas (the study sample) in terms of the supervisors' attitudes towards voluntary work.
