The Reality and Requirements of Strategic Planning in Saudi Universities to Enhance their Competitiveness
Abstract
The current study aimed to realize the reality of strategic planning in Saudi universities through the disclosing its requirements to improve the competitiveness of the universities, as well as to be aware of the challenges facing it, which may limit the improvement of the competitiveness of universities in Saudi Arabia. the descriptive approach has been applied to the members of the study who are 69 teaching staff members of an Educational Administration Specialization in four Public Universities, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, King Saud University, the University of Umm Al-Qura, and King Khalid University in Abha and Bisha only. The questionnaire consists of 35 clauses subdivided into three focuses.
The study reached several results, including: amongst the most important requirements of strategic planning in Saudi universities is:
- The need for the approbations necessary for the strategic planning to be available.
It was the most significant challenges facing the practice of strategic planning in Saudi universities is:
- The fast (qualitative and quantitative) changes in the internal environment of the Saudi Universities.
