Abstract

This research aims to reveal the effectiveness of a proposed training program based on Kolb's Experimental Learning Model on developing reflective teaching skills among field training students. The experimental approach with a semi-experimental design was used to achieve that purpose. A list of reflective teaching skills necessary for field training students was built. The educational materials represented in the training program as well as the research tools were also designed, which included examining the cognitive aspect of reflective teaching skills, and a note card for the performance aspect of those skills.

After verifying the validity and reliability of the research materials and tools, the tools were applied before and after implementing the program on an experimental sample of (43) trainees. The results revealed a statistically significant difference at the significance level of (0001.0), between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre and post applications in the test and the note card. By calculating the practical significance using the Eta squared, the strength of the program effect was (significant) in the test, and (moderate) in note card, which confirms the effectiveness of the program in developing these skills
