Abstract

  • The current study aimed to identify the level of teaching practices of mathematics teachers that develop health numeracy and mathematical identity among primary school students in Jeddah Governorate,The sample of the study consisted of (30) teachers who were chosen by the stratified random method, and the descriptive method was used. The study tool was a note card prepared by the researcher, where the card contained (24) paragraphs divided into two axes, the first contained (14) paragraphs, about teaching practices related to the health numeracy of mathematics teachers, and the second contained (10) paragraphs, about teaching practices related to the mathematical identity of mathematics teachers. Quadruple Likert scale was used. The results of the study showed that the general average of the level of teaching practices that develop health numeracy among primary school students was low with an average of (2.02) out of (4.00), and that the general average of the level of teaching practices that develop mathematical identity among primary school students came with a medium degree and an average of ( (2.85) out of (4.00), and the study recommended holding specialized training courses for teachers; To demonstrate the importance of teaching practices that develop health numeracy and mathematical identity among primary school students.
