The Role of the School Administration in Activating Partnership between the School and the Local Community: An Empirical Study

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of the school administration in activating the partnership with the local community as perceived by principals of high and middle schools  in Riyadh ; the researcher used the descriptive approach in addition to well-studied questionnaire that  was validated and was reliably ensured for integrity of its data, the questionnaires were distributed to members of the study and it was collected and processed statistically. The study has achieved the founding and recommendations:

First: Results

1 - The results of the study revealed that the role of the school administration in the activating the relationship with the local community came moderate with a mean (2.66 ) very close to weak degrees; and the importance of the role came with a high degree a mean (3.77.(2 - The results of the study revealed that one area applied moderately ( Student Affairs ) , while the rest of the fields ( field of student activity , the field of school affairs , financial affairs ) apply a weak degree; and all areas were of high importance .3 - The constraints faced by the school administration to activate the partnership with the local community came with a high degree .  4 - The study revealed that there were statistically differences at the level of significance 0.01 or less among the members of the study of public schools, and members of the study of private schools on the extent of the execution, the importance of partnership in the Student Affairs  in addition to  constraints faced by the community partnership. The result was  in favor of the study of private schools .Second : Recommendations1 - The Ministry of Education has to find systems that will help schools to open their doors in the evening for the local community 2 - The Ministry of Education has to encourage schools to take advantage of retired teachers and has to create incentives for collaborators .3 - The Ministry of Education has to allocate some of the schools' libraries to open to the community and increase its resources.
