Types of School Headmasters Administration in Alhasa and its relationship with Teachers' Organizational Commitment: A Case Study of Guba Model Perspective

Abstract

 

The management style adopted by the director of an organization is highlighted as an influence on various aspects of the organizational environment, especially in the commitment of the teachers. The current study addresses the management style of the school principal as one of the important factors to determine their relationship to the level of organizational commitment of teachers in Al-Ahsa from their point of view, and in accordance with Guba Model in classifying administrative patterns of the school principals.

The study found a correlative statistical relationship at the level (0.01) between the administrative three patterns for the school principals (organizational, personal, and the coincidence).Besides, the organizational commitment of teachers in its four dimensions (commitment to the teaching profession, school, school works and colleagues).

Also, the study has made a number of recommendations, most importantly is the development of the behavior of school principals, which is based on attention about teachers, finding of mutual trust between them and respect. In addition to development of their morale, treatment as colleagues, and not as employees, which will have positive impact on their commitment to the organization, and in achieving school goals.
