Trends of Students and Faculty of the College of Information and Computer Sciences at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University towards Using E-Learning Management System (Blackboard) and Its Correlation with Some Variables.

Abstract

This current study aims to detect the trends of students and faculty members at Faculty of Information and Computer Sciences at the Islamic University of Imam Muhammad bin Saud towards using e-learning management system (Blackboard) in the university education and teaching, and to achieve this objective, the researcher used the descriptive methodology, and the study sample consisted of 533 male and female students who were selected randomly by around (20%) of the total study population. The sample of faculty members consisted of (72) members, which represents 65% of the study population, the researcher used the questionnaire as an instrument for the study and it was verified and validated using Cronbach's alpha equation (Alpha Cronbach's) and its stability coefficient was (0.88).Findings of the study also showed that the overall average of the trends of students of the Faculty of Information and Computer Science at the Islamic University of Imam Muhammad bin Saud towards the use of e-learning management system towards the use of e-learning management system indicates a positive trend of the respondents towards e-learning management system at a rate of (3.46). Well as the positive trends of faculty members that was at a rate of (3.61).The study concluded a set of recommendations, including mainstreaming this experience to all faculties at the university particularly that there is a wide acceptance among students and faculty members for this type of education, providing ongoing and intensive training for students and faculty members on the use of e-learning management system (Blackboard) and the need to provide infrastructure
