Application of Risk Management in the Public Schools for Boys in Riyadh City: A Suggested perception

Abstract

The present study aims to provide a suggested perception for applying the risk management in the public schools for boys in Riyadh city through identifying the role of school administration in the application of risk management, and fulfilling the requirements for the application of risk management in the public schools for boys in Riyadh city. To achieve this, the researcher used the descriptive survey method, along with the questionnaire as a tool for the study. The study sample consisted of (245) school principals who were selected in a stratified random manner from the study population, with number of (732) principals in the public schools for boys in Riyadh city. The study has reached several results; the most important of which are: The role of the school administration in applying the risk management in the public schools for boys in Riyadh city from the point of view of school principals came with a high degree, with an arithmetic average of (3.41 out of 5.00). In addition, it was a high degree agreement, with an arithmetic mean (3.45 out of 5.00), among the study individuals on the requirements of applying the risk management in the public schools for boys in Riyadh city from the point of view of school principals. One of the most notably requirements is: spreading awareness of risks and the significance of managing thereof, as well as conducting mock experiments in the school to deal with risks. In such proposal, the study confirmed the establishment of a risk management unit in each school whereas the study found several recommendations, the most important of which are:  activating the training courses and workshops for principals of the public schools for boys in Riyadh city regarding the application of risk management, provided that the school management is keen to design a comprehensive database that enhances the school's ability to manage the current and future risks by benefiting from the previous ones.
