This study aimed to reveal the processes used to develop the content of the My Eternal Language Curriculum books in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the level of their use, and the type of content developed. In order to achieve the goals, the researcher used the descriptive approach based on the quantitative and qualitative content analysis method. The study was applied to the “My Eternal Language” books at the intermediate level in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which are printed in 2021, and applied in the academic year 2022/2023. The number of books is (6) books.
The result of this study showed that, there are (4) main development processes: addition, modification, replacement, and deletion, and (23) sub-processes for these four processes. Also, the quantitative analysis found that the frequency of development processes in the content of the “My Eternal Language” books in the intermediate level reached (2817) repetitions, distributed closely in all three books. The process of (modification) came first with a percent of (51%), then the (addition) process with a percent of (29%), then the (replacement) process with a percent of (12%), and the (deletion) process with a percent of (8%). In additional, the results of the qualitative analysis showed that most of these processes were focused on formal aspects such as, linguistic, spelling, typographical correction, controlling and improving the output, with limited qualitative development dealing with texts, activities and cognitive content.
In light of results, the study recommended paying attention to scrutinizing, reviewing, and controlling the books of “My Eternal Language”, improving their production, and being careful not to give much precedence to non-linguistic content.
