The Degree of Organizational Commitment among Faculty Members in the College of Social Sciences at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University from Their Perceptions

Abstract

     The aim of this study is to identify the degree of organizational commitment  in loyalty and responsibility areas among the faculty members of the College of Social Sciences at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University from their perceptions. It also aims to investigate the impact of some variables on the degree of organizational commitment of the study population. Using the descriptive survey methodology, the researcher uses a measurement instrument to collect the data from the study population which consists of (225) of the faculty members. The study findings indicates that the degree of the organizational commitment in the area of loyalty among the study population is high. The degree of organizational commitment in the area of​​ responsibility of the study population is also high. The results also shows that there are no significant differences among the study population in the degree of commitment related to the academic rank variable. While there are significant differences among them in the degree of organizational commitment related to the length of experience and academic department variables. Based on the study findings, the researcher suggests​ a number of recommendations.
