Electronic Performance Management as Perceived by Public School Leaders

Abstract:
This study investigated the electronic performance management as perceived by public school leaders. To address this purpose, the study explored the phases, dimensions, and obstacles of electronic performance management. This study was a mixed methods research design. The quantitative data were collected from the participation of 468 participants, while the qualitative data were obtained from two focus groups of participants. The questionnaire and the focus group interviews were instruments of this study. The study was conducted in 2022. The quantitative findings of this study found that the three phases of electronic performance management include planning and preparation phase, implementing and monitoring phase, and evaluation and review phase were classified as “high”. Additionally, the study identified eight dimensions for electronic performance management that were classified as “high”. The study found statistically significant differences among group of participants based on gender and educational qualification. On contrast, the study found that the differences were not significant differences among groups with different years of experience. Lastly, the qualitative findings found various challenges facing public school leaders to manage electronic performance such as technological challenges, administrative and organizational challenges, challenges related to electronic performance processes, and challenges related to the professional development.
