Content Analysis of life skills and Family Education Textbook of the First Grade of Middle School Considering Knowledge Economy Skills

Abstract

The current study aimed to analyze the content of the Life Skills and Family Education textbook of the 1st grade of middle school considering the knowledge economy skills. The study sample consisted of the textbook of Life Skills and Family Education of the 1st grade of middle school for the academic year 1444. The researcher developed an analysis tool in light of the knowledge economy skills consisted of five skills.  Results of the study revealed that the degree of observance in the Life Skills and Family Education textbook of the 1st grade of middle school for knowledge economy skills is low. While the textbook observance of knowledge economy skills in the knowledge field was in an average degree. whereas the degree of observance in the Life Skills and Family Education textbook of the 1st grade of middle school for knowledge economy skills in the national field was low. In view of the study results, it was proposed to reconsider improving the Life Skills and Family Education textbook of the 1st grade of middle school in order to fullfill the skills of knowledge economy, employ technology in all course lessons and instruct students to use it safely, as this is one of the requirements of the knowledge era.
