The study aimed to measure the effectiveness of using John Zoharyk's model in imparting and retaining historical inquiry skills among second-year intermediate students in the subject of social studies. To achieve the objectives of study, the researcher employed a quasi-experimental method (two-group design). The sample consisted of 52 students from the second-year intermediate level, divided into two groups: Experimental group, consisting of 26 students, who study using John Zoharyk's model, and control group, consisting of 26 students, who study according to the conventional method. A test was administered to measure historical inquiry skills both pre-test and post-test, as well as a delayed post-test, to both the experimental and control groups. The study found that, there were statistically significant differences between the control and experimental groups in the post-test measurement of historical inquiry skills in the social studies subject, in favor of the experimental group. Additionally, there were statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level between the control and experimental groups in the delayed post-test measurement of historical inquiry skills in the social studies course, also in favor of the experimental group. Furthermore, there was a positive and statistically significant correlation between students' scores in both the post-test and delayed post-test measurements of historical inquiry skills.
