Abstract

The study aimed to present mechanisms for activating Technology incubators in Kuwaiti universities in serving society in light of the requirements of the knowledge economy. The research also aimed to identify the theoretical foundations of Technology incubators in Kuwaiti universities in serving society in light of the requirements of the knowledge economy. The study relied on the descriptive approach, and used a questionnaire that was applied to a sample consisting of (227) faculty members - graduate students - researchers. It diagnoses the current situation of Technology incubators in Kuwaiti universities in serving society in light of the requirements of the knowledge economy, and arrives at mechanisms for activating them. It included The current research has three dimensions: governance that is based on strong economic foundations of knowledge: (legal and political frameworks) aiming to increase productivity and growth - innovation that is based on research and development through an effective system - infrastructure built on information and communication technologies, which facilitates the processing, dissemination and exchange of information and knowledge. In addition, adapting them to local needs). The results concluded that the reality of activating Technology incubators in Kuwaiti universities to serve society in light of the requirements of the knowledge economy.is required according to the opinions of the selected sample. In addition, the presence of statistically significant differences between the averages of the sample members’ response regarding the reality of Technology incubators in Kuwaiti universities to activate the university’s role in serving.
