In light of the efforts made by many countries to improve education, national and international tests can be considered a measure of improvement. The Education and Training Evaluation Commission in Saudi Arabia seeks to evaluate the educational process in schools through multiple tests, the most important of which are the General Aptitude Test (GAT), and the Scholastic Achievement Admission Test (SAAT), which clarify the level of student performance in the school and through which the performance of education offices and education departments can be known. This study aims to explore the differences between the performance of government and private secondary schools in national tests: GAT and SAAT, and to find the relationship between the average scores of schools, and the possibility of predicting school results in the achievement test by knowing the results of the general secondary school. To achieve the study's objectives, the researcher used the descriptive comparative predictive approach due to its suitability to the nature of the objectives of the current study. The study sample consisted of all government and private schools affiliated with the Madinah Education Department, which numbered 102 schools, divided into 89 government schools and 13 private schools at the secondary stage. The researcher used general secondary, GAT, and SAAT test results for the year 1442 AH. The most important results were that private schools showed superiority over government schools. There was also a positive correlation between secondary school certificate results and aptitude and achievement tests in government and private schools, so the higher the school's average arithmetic score on the secondary school test, the higher its average on the GAT and SAAT.
