Extent of the Transformational Leadership Dimensions Practice among Female School Leaders in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the extent of applying the dimensions of the transformational leadership by female school leaders in Alkharj. It also revealed the statistical differences between the participants' results in applying the transformational leadership dimensions. The researcher used descriptive analytical method. The study community consisted of 274 female school leaders of both public and private schools in the three stages of schools, elementary، intermediate and secondary. The data was analyzed with SPSS and reached the following findings:

  1. The analysis showed a high level of application for the transformational leadership among female school leaders in Alkharj with a mean of 3.70 which indicated that the school leaders are applying the dimensions of the transformational leadership to a high extent.
  2. The female school leaders with ten years experience and above showed higher application of the dimensions of the transformational leadership than those of less experience.
  3. The study showed that the number of training courses that the female school leaders had participated in had no statistical differences in the results.

According to the results of this study, the researcher presented the following recommendation: Designing exchange educational programs to help leaders benefit from the leaders with long experience، The ministry of education should give financial and moral reinforcement for leaders who are interested in change and development.
