Difficulties facing Saudi students on scholarships during the foundation year in Britain

Abstract

The paper aims to explore the difficulties that face Saudi students on scholarships during the foundation year in the British universities and educational institutions, and the way that could contribute to overcome these difficulties from the point of view of the study members, as well as to identify the significance statistical differences between the average responses according to the study variables.   

The study employs survey research to collect the quantitative data from a sample consisting of (107) students who are currently studying for bachelor's degree and studied the foundation year in the UK. The study also used the interview tool to obtain the qualitative information from a sample of supervisors in the Cultural Attaché consisting of (7) supervisors. The finding found a number of difficulties that faced students in international foundation year regarding the organizational procedures and students themselves. The study offers a number of suggestions to overcome these difficulties from the viewpoint of the population of the study
