Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of reciprocal teaching strategy in the development of concepts understanding of "Learning through Projects for Children" course and learning motivation among futureteachers at Princess Noura bint AbdulrahmanUniversity.The sample of the study consisted of (57) futureteachersdivided into two groups: (34) futureteachers in the control group that was taught using the traditional method, and (23) futureteachers in the experimental group that was taught using reciprocal teaching strategy. Studyresults revealedthat there wereno statistically significant differences (α≤0,05) between the two groupsof the study in the overall concepts understanding testatthe clarification and interpretationlevelsdueto teaching method, while the results revealedthat there was a statistically significant difference (α≤0,05) between the two groups inthe overall concepts understanding testatthe application level due to teaching method in favor of  the experimental group.Moreover, the results revealedthat there wasno statistically significant difference (α≤0,05) between the two groups of the study in learning motivation scale due to teaching method.
