Abstract

The study aimed to identify the causal relationships between mental wandering, creativity, working memory capacity, and cognitive curiosity among university students, and to determine the relative contribution of creativity, working memory capacity, and cognitive curiosity in predicting mind wandering, and building a model that explains the causal relationships between cognitive curiosity and working memory capacity as independent variables, and creativity as a mediating variable. Mental wandering as a dependent variable for a sample of female students from the College of Education at Najran University. The sample of the basic study consisted of (98) female students from the College of Education representing the original community. The sample was chosen in a simple random way. The study concluded that creativity as a mediating variable affects the relationship between cognitive curiosity, working memory capacity, and mental wandering.
