Abstract

This study aimed to develop the teaching skills of middle school Islamic Studies teachers in the 21st century using a descriptive methodology and a questionnaire. The research involved 135 teachers and 8 experts who defined a list of teaching skills. The results showed moderate proficiency in instructional, creative, digital, and professional skills. The study proposed suggestions for improving these skills, including schools' role in enhancing teaching skills, continuous training on 21st-century teaching, integrating professional development principles, incorporating modern trends in training, understanding contemporary educational paradigms, mastering critical and creative thinking skills, emphasizing constructivist teaching principles, ensuring instructional creativity requirements, and integrating 21st-century learning skills into Islamic Studies instruction. The findings suggest that schools should play a crucial role in enhancing these skills and incorporating them into Islamic Studies instruction
