Contribution of educational departments at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in highlighting the role of media education among postgraduate students in light of values globalization

Abstract

The study aims to identify the contribution of educational departments at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in promoting the role of media education among postgraduate students in light of values globalization. To achieve this goal, the descriptive method is used. The main findings study are as follows:

1- Media education is not offered as a course or as a training program to students.

2- Lack of institutional cooperation among departments of education and colleges of media in the field of media education.

3- Importance of enlightening the students with the role globalization in changing the values and showing them how to deal better with the conflicting values in context of globalization.

 The study recommended the following:

1- Providing a course description of Media Education course and offering it as one of the general requirements of MA programs for all students at the departments of education.

2- Providing a course description of Advanced Media Education course, and offering it as one of the general requirements of PhD programs for all students at the departments of education.

3- Asking the Department of Pedagogy to write a course description of Media Education course and to offer it to students of the departments of education.

4-Partnership among departments of education and media colleges to promote media education.

5- Holding a number of training courses for students in media education.
